Common causes on the Transit
Downstream NOx sensor failure
The most common Transit fault — sensor degrades, ECU logs P20EE / P229F and triggers the countdown.
AdBlue injector crystallisation
Urea deposits block the dosing injector tip, starving the SCR and producing dosing-pressure faults (P20E8).
AdBlue dosing pump pressure low
Higher-mileage Transits suffer pump wear and can no longer hit target rail pressure.
SCR temperature sensor failure
Faulty temp sensor stops dosing being permitted and logs reductant performance faults.
AdBlue tank level sender error
Sender gives false low readings and the dash claims the tank is empty when it isn't.
