Symptoms
- 'AdBlue — starting impossible in X miles' message
- Orange AdBlue warning stays lit after a top-up

- Engine warning light alongside AdBlue warning
- No-start once the countdown reaches zero

What actually causes it
NOx sensor failure
The most common Berlingo / Dispatch AdBlue fault. Replacement plus coding is the only proper fix.
Dosing injector crystallisation
Urea deposits block the injector tip. Common on multi-drop urban delivery vans.
SCR catalyst contamination
Non-spec AdBlue poisons the catalyst and logs P20EE.

- PSA-level scan of engine, BSI and SCR systems
- Live data: NOx signal, AdBlue pressure, dosing duty cycle, SCR temperature
- Confirm the failing part before any work is quoted
The repair, done properly
- OE-spec sensor or dosing component replacement
- Telecoding to the BSI / engine ECU
- SCR adaptation reset and verified road test
- AdBlue countdown cleared through diagnostics
How to prevent it next time
- Use only ISO 22241 AdBlue
- Top up before the warning appears
- Sustained 30-minute drives monthly if the van does short urban work
- Diagnose at the first warning, not at countdown
